She tells Prithvi that she even tried to find Balraj’s sons but in vain. A helpless Ila Gujral wants Prithvi to help her locate Balraj’s sons. Now of course the story is gaining immense pace and is getting all the more thrilling.

With Prithvi, Sameer and Varun realizing their mistake in considering Ila Gujral as their father’s murderer and with the three sisters on the verge of breaking ties with them, will the Saxena brothers find peace? How will the Gujral family react after finding the truth? Let’s wait and watch.

He finds out that Ila Gujral had filed a bail petition to get Balraj released from jail even before his court hearing had started. Varun realizes that there is more to Balraj?s murder mystery than meets the eye.

Now that Prithvi is all set to collect the power of attorney documents and reveal their identity to Ila Gujral, Varun decides to stop him immediately.

And while Jetha keeps criticizing Daya, we all know that he really loves her. No wonder, when he returned from his foreign trip, he readily agreed to play garba with Daya.

Dev marries Radhika in Choti Bahu, last episode of November

In Choti Bahu, Radhika had suffered 50% burns as she was trapped in the fire that broke out on her wedding day. In the November 30 episode, Radhika must now undergo a surgery due to her critical condition. Shastriji and Devaki are obviously shattered and wonder that even if Radhika recovers will Dev still marry her. Thankfully, Dev overhears their conversation and makes a big decision.

He goes to Radhika and convinces her that he genuinely loves her. Dev then completes the marriage ritual by applying sindoor (vermilion) on Radhika's forehead.

Later, when Radhika is being taken to the operation theatre, everyone notices the sindoor on her forehead. While Shastriji, Devaki and even Vishakha are pleased, Ammaji is highly disappointed.

Some TV channels cashing in on Mumbai’s 26/11

The terror attacks in Mumbai on 26/11 2008 shook the city. Even the mere thought of 26/11 still gives us goose bumps and our hatred for those responsible only increases. And today, on the first anniversary of the unfortunate day, the entire country is paying homage to the martyrs and victims of 26/11. The television news channels are taking us through the sad events of that day and the progress in the case, while paying homage to those who lost their lives.


But while all this is happening, one act by a TV channel really hurt me today. And I am as furious on the channel as much as I am mad at those responsible for 26/11. I happened to watch a particular television channel (I won’t take the name) that was doing its bit towards paying homage. Until then, it was fine. And then the channel started cashing in on the tragic event. The actors from various shows of the channel, dressed as per their character in their respective serials, started giving homage bytes! Isn’t this the height of publicity? They must have thought ‘Chalo aisa karne se log hamaare serials aur characters se aur bhi connect karengey’. Do they think we are fools? Do they really think that people can’t differentiate between publicity stunts and heartfelt messages? I am really very furious at the channel and disappointed as it is one of my favorite TV channels.

Has the media industry scenario become so competitive that one does not want to miss out on any opportunity or the worst of incidents? 26/11 is one of the most unfortunate days in the history of Mumbai and one expects the media and entertainment industry to be sensible enough and not try such cheap stunts.

And yes, if the channel says it was unintentional, I won’t believe it.

Secret of Balraj's murder revealed in Love Ne Mila Di Jodi

The secret of Balraj's murderer is finally revealed in the 5th November episode of Love Ne Mila Di Jodi. Balraj?s murderer is none other than Inderjit. Yes, Inderjit had murdered a blackmailer in one of the initial episodes of the Star One serial. Balraj (Prithvi, Sameer and Varun?s father) had seen him trying to escape after the murder and hence Inderjit had framed Balraj in the murder.

Later, Balraj had revealed Inderjit?s identity to an inspector. Poor Balraj had no idea that the inspector was Inderjit?s aide. The inspector then helped Inderjit kill Balraj. Prithvi was told that Ila Gujral was the last person to visit Balraj before he ?committed suicide?. No wonder, Prithvi, Sameer and Varun assumed that Ila Gujral is the culprit,

Now Inderjit, who knows the secret of Saxena brothers, is blackmailing them. In the November 6 episode of Love Ne Mila Di Jodi, he demands a whopping Rs 10 crore to keep his mouth shut.

What is Inderjit up to? Will he now frame Prithvi, Sameer and Varun in a case of fraud? Let?s wait and watch.

Love Ne Mila Di Jodi – Truly romantic serial

Love Ne Mila Di Jodi is getting better by the day! The story moves fast and there is complete logic to whatever is happening in this Star One serial. The serial makers have perfectly managed to present three love stories in the backdrop of murder and revenge. And as I mentioned in my previous post on LNMDJ, these guys aren’t stretching incidents and they are doing a wonderful job!

What impresses me most these days is the way they have handled romantic scenes. Every single emotion, every single expression, every single dialog and scene is just so perfect. Especially, in the October 20 episode! The obvious uneasiness that happens when two people in love talk about it for the first time is directed amazingly.

They have made the serial the way someone would make a super romantic Hindi film… the likes of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayengey, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, QSQT and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Kudos to the Love Ne Mila Di Jodi team! I would really like to meet them, especially the writer and director. The serial stands up to its name.

TV serials Bidaai and Pavitra Rishta of September 14 2009 added to the list of serials that happen to cover a similar incident on the same day. Well height of coincidence or whatever, with the burgeoning number of television serials across the ever-increasing number of TV channels, what else can you expect!

In the Star Plus serial Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai (on September 14), Ranvir decides to expose Vasundhara and he’s all set with a plan. On the other hand, Ambika who actually killed Ranvir’s grandfather is up to something as well. It’s the high point of the serial when the truth about the murder of Ranvir’s grandfather is to be revealed.

On the same day, in Zee TV serial Pavitra Rishta, Manav vows to expose Ajit after discovering that he’s the one responsible of tarnishing Archana’s image. But Ajit too is up to something and has a proper plan in place to save himself.

Well, such coincidences continue to amuse me. Let’s see what’s next!

It’s a surprising coincident when two serials of the same channel cover the same theme on a particular day. And I am not talking about topical events like festivals. Earlier I had written about Star Plus TV serials Hamari Devrani and Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum. In their April 23 episode, these two serials had a similar event happening – people were planning to exchange the real ornaments with fake ones.
And now it’s Zee TV’s turn. In their August 26 episode, both the serials Shree and Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan revolve around ashes! In Betiyaan, Janvi manages to find Ammaji’s ashes and decides to perform Ammaji’s last rites. On the same day, Shree accidentally drops the bottle containing Kangna’s ashes and Kangna comes back!

Love Ne Mila Di Jodi - A good story on Star One

I am quite addicted to the show Love Ne Mila Di Jodi on Star One. That’s the only Hindi serial I watch daily.

Love Ne Mila Di Jodi is not the typical love story; in fact, it’s not a love story. Love is a by-the-way while the serial revolves around a strong concept. It’s more like a movie. The casting, the dialogues, the emotions, the direction… everything is just perfect. More than anything, the story has a decent pace. For once, there’s a serial where a dupatta falling on a person’s face isn’t a concept dragged for 2 episodes followed by another couple of episodes complete with flashback of this incident.

Love Ne Mila Di Jodi (LNMDJ) is the story of three brothers - Prithvi (Gaurav Khanna), Sameer (Karan Thacker) and Varun (Dishant Arora). Their father Balraj is framed in a false murder case. Prithvi and Sameer are aware of his arrest and they try to help him out.

In the process the three brothers fall in love with the three daughters of Ila Gujral, a leading businesswoman possibly behind their father’s arrest.

Now what? Well, that’s what makes me watch this serial regularly. Expect the unexpected in every episode. These guys aren’t stretching incidents and they are doing a wonderful job! Hope the serial maintains its style.

Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma Janmashtami Special

Like other television serials, Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma is also running a Janmashtami Special episode. But it’s not very typical. These guys know how to smoothly weave an event into an episode without disturbing the essence of the serial.

So, there’s a Dahi Handi competition at Gokuldham society and any mandal can come and try to break the dahi handi. What’s more, a news channel has agreed for live coverage and a sponsorship too. The winning mandal / group will get Rs 1 lakh cash. Several mandals try to break the dahi handi but in vain. Let’s see who’ll succeed in the next episode.

Sach Ka Saamna Star Plus Reality Show Controversy

When a friend told me she was thinking about participating in the reality show Sach Ka Saamna (much before the show went on air), I advised her to view some videos of The Moment Of Truth show. Fortunately, she decided not to participate.

Why? Well you can be asked really embarrassing personal questions during the show. The ‘correct’ answer is decided on the basis of a polygraph test / lie detector. You end up revealing things from your past, some passing thought, some secret that wasn’t as big a secret as it becomes on the show. But then, our society is still not that liberal as it pretends to be.Well, those who dare to participate must be prepared to deal with it.

Nevertheless, as expected, Sach Ka Saamna is facing a controversy now with the BJP and SP MPs demanded the government to ban the show. Well, any publicity is good publicity for reality shows and hence the controversy might work great for Sach Ka Saamna, for as long as it runs. I used to watch the SAB TV comedy serial FIR of the Chandramukhi Chautala fame regularly. I love the concept of the show and the acting of the female lead Kavita Kaushik. The funny and cute Hindi serial is good 30-minute stressbuster.

But until recently, my busy schedule prevented me from catching up with my favorite shows. Then I discovered that all these TV serials are available across the internet for free viewing. But with the internet speed at our homes, it does become quite a task to watch the 30-minute serials online.
